Equine Bodywork

Due to being certified in a variety of bodywork modalities, Lindsay uses massage, myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy & the Lazaris Nerve Release Technique on each horse, based off of what they need. No horse is ever the same, so their bodywork shouldn't be either! Sessions, especially the first one, can take up to 2 hours, and is based on the horse's acceptance of the bodywork.  Some may not be ready for their entire body to be done in an entire session.  Lindsay will work with each horse's comfort level.

PULSE ELECTRo MAGNETIC FREQUENCY

PEMF is the use of magnetic waves to stimulate cell repair to damaged cells and to enhance the creation of new healthy cells in problem areas.  PEMF is known for going deeper than many other modalities in helping cellular repair, increasing circulation, speeding up healing time, and can provide relief for issues such arthritis, soft tissue injuries, wounds, decreasing inflammation, abscesses, and sore muscles.  It also can be used to promote organ healthy such as working on the lungs for asthmatic horse's, and help with overall body wellness. PEMF also magnifies things. Any bodywork, red light, taping, medications, or supplements are known to be more effective directly after a PEMF session.

Thermography

Thermography is the study of heat.  Lindsay uses a professional grade thermography camera to take photos of the horse's/dog's body to find areas of heat and inflammation.

Thermography can show muscle tears, bone chips, tendon and ligament injuries, laminitis, nerve root problems, disc compressions, arthritis, SI issues, saddle fit, and imbalances in the muscling of the horse.

Clients can request thermography three different ways.  First, to check saddle fit.  Before pictures are taken then the horse is ridden in the saddle that needs to be checked for at least 15 minutes, then another photo is taken.

The photo can show any unevenness from on side to another, or if the saddle is pinching anywhere. The second way offered, is to have thermography done before and after bodywork.  The before areas will show areas with issue in depth, and the after will show the improvement, and if anything else needs to be done to achieve optimal comfort for the horse.

The last way offered is body shot sets of the horse.  These shots will compare sides of the horse and show any issues the horse may be having.

Clients can then decide to help eliminate these issues in future appointments.  All photos will be edited through the FLIR tools system and emailed to the client within 48 hours of their appointment.

Lindsay works with Dr. Looney at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine and Laura Well of Pawz for Wellness in providing thermal imaging for patient's there, and accepts referrals from them.
